The Adelaide Guitar Festival champions the talented musicians and incredible venues that form the bedrock of our city’s musical ecosystem. In a series of short, punchy social media videos, we needed to capture the artistry, heart and community of the Guitars in Bars program. Cue the music!
With 13 interviews in 6 iconic Adelaide venues, we needed to ensure each video had its own unique story, which was made easy by the brilliant people we spoke to. From veteran publicans keeping the city’s live music scene alive, to passionate guitarists from across the country, each individual’s message was decorated with vibrant footage of the pubs, bars, stages and streets that brought their performances to life.
Our footage was captured in three major formats:
Interviews were shot across the Gilbert Street Hotel, Grace Emily Hotel, Memphis Slim’s House of Blues, Queen’s Theatre, Trinity Sessions and the Wheatsheaf Hotel, with additional sequences of the interviewees engaging with the space.
Video collages of archival clips and photographs, adding further depth to the narrative in short bursts.
Relevant insert footage that further illustrated the interviewee’s stories. This included sequences, drone footage and live gig content.
